Why aluminum

Lighter. Longer-lasting. Worth more later.

Featherlite and ATC both build their trailers in aluminum. Here’s why it matters when you’re hauling horses, cars or a family weekend.

Lighter to tow, more to carry

An aluminum frame weighs considerably less than a comparable steel one. Less trailer weight means more of your tow vehicle’s capacity goes to what you’re carrying (horses, tack, a race car or a UTV) and less fuel goes into dragging the trailer itself.

No rust. No rot.

ATC builds a fully welded, six-sided aluminum frame with no wood to rot and no steel to rust. Featherlite has built all-aluminum horse and livestock trailers since 1973. Road salt, wash-outs and years outdoors are far kinder to aluminum.

Backed for the long haul

That confidence shows in the warranties: Featherlite offers a 10-year limited structural warranty on most models, and ATC offers up to a 10-year structural warranty on many of its haulers and toy haulers. Each model page lists its coverage.

Value that lasts

Because aluminum trailers age well, they tend to hold their value. More of your money comes back when it’s time to trade up.
